Zirka Dominus
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
In this strategic game inspired by games such as civilization, players control a space-faring civilization seeking to explore, colonize, and conquer the galaxy. In this universe you may find many new friends or foes who also have the same goal. To win you will need to show dominance through either superior research or through pure conquest. Currently you can start as one of 8 different civilizations, each with their own unique bonus and back story. (more options planned for the future)
This universe has been in many way shaped by the precursors known as the K'thar Empire. They were once a massive civilization who were both sadistic and cruel, known for wiping out or enslaving any advanced civilizations they came across. Many of the worlds of those unlucky Alien civilizations still exist in the from of tomb worlds, which are great for finding buried artifacts that can help speed up research but are not very well suited for sustaining large populations. Most of their subservient races were wiped out during the collapse but a few survived, and have now formed their own civilizations which are now finally ready to try and explore the galaxy under their own banner.
In this universe skip drives have been found to be the best form of FTL travel. Ships that utilize Skip Drives can go vast distances in a short period, revolutionizing interstellar exploration and warfare. Basically it is like using a wormhole to go from system A, to system B, allowing the ships to go anywhere within its range extremely fast. Most of the travel time comes from not wanting to have the entrance or exit too close to the solar system.
Technical Information and Platform Specific info
The game is currently playable, and should mostly work as expected (expect some bugs, hopefully minor or inconsequential ones). Please report any issues.
While being in Alpha it is missing features, I do still try to make sure the game is playable whenever updating the game. This means that some features are stripped down version of the planned features specifically made to allow the current game to be playable.
Online or LAN Multiplayer is experimental and is more likely to have bugs. Some issues with desyncing on multiplayer can be solved by saving and reloading (a quick process). Most of the art and menus in the game are placeholders which will be improved later on. My main focus currently is on features and making sure multiplayer works properly. Creating nice looking and intuitive menus are not currently a priority.
An experimental version for android exists(now with working zoom). It likely will not be updated as often as the PC version. Please let me know how well it works on smaller phones, as I have many used my tablet for testing. If you use the mac version please let me know how well it works. I have only tested it on an ancient mac-book.
Minimum known requirements - 2011 mac-book with an I7 @1.6ghz (i have also ran it on an i3), 4gb of ram and an integrated GPU (low graphics mode enabled)
